The Organisation
Our client is a large, regional human services provider delivering a diverse range of programs across Disability, Aged Care, Child & Family Services, Community Transport, Home Modification, and Clinical Services. With operations spanning more than 40 locations across regional New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, the organisation plays a vital role in supporting and employing people within the communities it serves. Guided by a strong person-centered philosophy, the organisation is committed to delivering services with empathy and care—ensuring psychological and emotional safety while helping individuals live their best lives.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the executive leadership team. This is a critical leadership role focused on scaling the organisation’s performance, fostering enterprise-wide commercial sustainability, and embedding a culture of accountability, innovation, and growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO and leading a team of General Managers, the COO will focus on enhancing organisational effectiveness, driving strategic growth, and ensuring operational excellence across all service portfolios. Additionally, this person will be;
  • Leading the delivery of financially sustainable services at scale, underpinned by innovation and data-driven performance management
  • Partnering with the CEO and executive team to identify and execute strategic growth initiatives
  • Leading and empowering senior leaders to drive a high-performance culture across disability, aged care, community, and support services
  • Strengthening financial and operational disciplines to ensure long-term viability in a resource-constrained environment
  • Building strong external partnerships with funders, regulators, and collaborators to support service innovation and growth

About You
You are a commercially minded executive leader with demonstrated success driving business performance and organisational change in complex, highly regulated environments. You bring strong financial and strategic acumen, an ability to inspire high-performing teams, and experience leading enterprise transformation within health, human services, or related sectors. You’re motivated by purpose and have the capability to balance mission with margin to deliver impact at scale.

Additionally, as the successful candidate for this role, you will bring;
  • 10+ years leadership experience in a complex, geographically dispersed operating environment.
  • Proven ability to drive strategic, financial, and risk management initiatives that balance commercial sustainability with service quality.
  • Expertise in quality, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in business, management, or a related field.
