The opportunity
Reporting to the Board and leading a talented executive team, the CEO will:
- Develop and deliver a bold strategic vision with the Board to position QM as a dynamic, globally relevant organisation; a world-class museum for all Queenslanders.
- Oversee innovative exhibitions, programs, and revenue growth through creative partnerships, commercial initiatives, and audience development.
- Elevate the museum’s public profile with government, industry, donors, and communities, providing timely strategic advice and fostering strong relationships.
- Lead and inspire a diverse executive team and workforce, promoting excellence, inclusivity, financial sustainability, and robust governance.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and sustainability, ensuring QM reflects and serves all communities.
About you
- Visionary executive with experience leading large, complex cultural, scientific, or public sector organisations
- Proven ability to set strategy, inspire high-performing teams, and deliver transformative results
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and advocacy at senior levels
- Strong commercial acumen and governance expertise
- Passion for cultural heritage, science, and community impact
